History Edit

A Protectorate of the United States of America from 1898, with moves toward full integration in the early 1960s. The expansionist ambitions of the Taruc administration was challenged by a rebellion in the Muslim South of the country.

The 'Moro Rebellion' was supported by forces based in the Netherlands East Indies, the British Protected Islamic Trucial States and the British Protected Kingdom of Sarawak, all having large populations of Muslim Malays closely related to the Moros of the Philippines.

This was in response to the Philippines' territorial claims, espoused by Wenceslao Vinzons and Diosdado Macapagal, over the entire territory of the Malay Peninsula and the islands of the East Indies. The ambition of the Philippines to establish a secular, nationalist and republican Greater Malayan Confederation or United States of Nusantara to undermined the authority of the Muslim monarchies under the protection of Great Britain and the Netherlands as much as it did their colonial master.

In particular, the Prince Jusice Legion or Angkatan Perang Ratu Adil based in the Netherlands East Indies began supporting the Moro rebellion in the late 1960s, and a decade later had launched a virtual invasion of the Southern Philippines.
